  • Individual introductory 30-minute video calls were made, to establish rapport between clients and coach
  • Before each of the 45-minute virtual coaching session, client proposes coaching topic
  • Together with the client, we explore this topic for the coaching session, and additional small exercises including pre- and post-coaching surveys to be completed as a follow up. A total of 5 coaching sessions were held within a 15-week period

Time management skills were greatly improved by 4 of our clients. They identified more effective tools to plan and schedule, identified tasks to be energizers versus drainers and improved their boundaries to commit and complete tasks.

How we can help clients develop proof-of-concepts: a Dutch construction conglomerate case.

  • The innovation department of a large construction conglomerate consisting of 13 different sister companies, wanted to visualise and test time / conflict simulations for crane utilisation
  • The challenge was on how to test, within a virtual environment, the optimization and time utilization of tower cranes
  • Ultimately, the client wanted to understand when there could be potential clashes and how eventually accidents could be prevented.

The Solution

Virtual Simulation

  • Based on base sets of BIM data, a simulation work place was built in virtual reality using Unity 3D software.
  • Our senior developer created a function with which it was possible to simulate the route of the crane and enable a time simulation 
  • A simplified time simulation model was integrated, which allowed us to identify where the crane would be at what moment.

Within 2-3 weeks, we delivered a first mock up of what was discussed with the client

A week later, we delivered a fully functional Proof-of-Concept, which fully complied with the requirements as agreed in the functional description document

Pilot Project

This Proof-of-Concept served as a basis for the pilot project, which could be applied in a real life work setting, to test the model and further improve and modify the PoC.

By doing so, a low-cost and fast model was built to test assumptions in a real life construction environment to build more comprehensive models.

Reduce Down Time

This Proof-of-Concept also would serve to simulate potential clashes, in order to reduce accidents and/or reduce down time of the tower cranes.

  • A Dutch tech startup developed an ML language learning engine, with the purpose to commercialise a solution for language learning for the hospitality industry.
  • To build a presence in SEA, to identify target markets and work on a pilot project to test the Proof-of-Concept and build the final commercial product.

The Solution

Pilot Project

  • From Singapore, we built up a team that was set up in the Netherlands, and deployed in Indonesia and Vietnam
  • Together with the CEO and CTO, we defined the product ownership using the Agile methodology and managed product development using Jira.
  • Within each country, we approached different hotels and their management to participate in a product pilot to test with hotel staff employees.
  • We developed a feedback mechanism that allows the software development team to get inputs from actual users to improve functionalities and features as required.

Three hotels were selected in Indonesia (in Bali and Jakarta) and three hotels in Vietnam (Hanoi, Nha Trang, and HCMC). Pilots were successfully completed in a 3-4 month period.

As an end result, we had a fully completed commercial product ready for deployment and sale after a period of 10-12 months.

Data Monitoring

Hotel customers were able to monitor individual employees’ language training using dashboards, whereas employees were able to study at their own pace on their own mobile device outside of the hotel. The HR managers were able to assign languages modules and do a real-time monitoring of learning progress by their employees.

Commercial Roll out

A commercial roll out to the launching customers was done with a regional boutique hotel chain and completed within weeks.

  • Within 1 week we found and recruited the executive, flew in  and organized the meeting, as well as arranged for a translator to attend the session.
  • The interview was recorded, and transcribed, providing the client with detailed answers on all the question sets that were prepared.
